Hello ladies and gentlemen, I am exceedingly honoured with great pleasure to welcome you to Jerusalem Institute of health Sciences. On behalf of the students ‘fraternity, I wish to congratulate each one of you, first for having secured a place at Jerusalem Institute Health Sciences and secondly for having a good sense of joining Jerusalem Institute of Health Sciences, a centre of health sciences based on trusting God for better Skills. Jerusalem Institute of Health Sciences puts students at the centre of everything it does; your experience and success are important to each and every member of the staff that works here.

 We have a fully pledged Guild government constituted by the Guild representative council (GRC) AND the Executives headed by the Guild president. We have a guild speaker, vice Guild president, the general secretary and the ministers among others. We also have the guild disciplinary committee (students’ Disciplinary Committee) headed by the minister of justice and constitutional affairs. This Guild Government is democratically elected and dedicated to serve both the institution and the students at large. The guild has an office, which is active from Monday to Sunday almost 24 hours since the institution has a boarding section.

To all the first-year students who joined us on the 1^st May 2023; your arrival in the institution marked a new chapter in the story of your life. However, this chapter is a bit different. The proceeding chapters were largely written by your parents, guardians, families, teachers or the likes. Now you will be the principal author of the next chapter, you have the temple of your story. This can be seen as daunting as it is exciting, as challenging as its empowering. However, the great thing is that you are doing something that you have chosen for yourself not by others. And when you are at Jerusalem, you will have the opportunity to learn new things, acquire new knowledge, develop skills and enhance personal attributes and profound ways that will equip your life after the institution every time a group of people come together, they need to choose what to do and when to do it, so if you know to unify a group and make  quick decisions without conflicts, you will be incredibly valuable because you will have exhibited leadership skills, you might to assume that strong leadership is only essential when you are managing people , but this is important for your success even when you are the  most junior person on the team so as students you are encouraged to make new friends who will share memories of your institution days for years to come.

Believe in yourself, be genuine, maintain your integrity, don’t sell your dignity, stay focused, we can also make it and contribute much and be influential in the development of our villages, parishes, sub-counties, constituencies, districts countries and the world at large.

Once again, Jerusalem Institute of Health Sciences is a God-fearing institution just as its name suggests JERUSALEM `THE HOLY CITY ‘from the Bible. Thank you for choosing Jerusalem Institute of Health Sciences, a choice that am confident you will not regret.
